Last month, just ahead of Valentine’s Day, the IIBA Romania Chapter brought the local BA community together in Cluj-Napoca for “A Love Letter to Business Analysis”, an event dedicated to the craft, responsibility, and impact of the Business Analyst role. The evening was hosted by our very own Sergiu Pocan, who guided the discussions and helped create a welcoming space for sharing ideas and experiences within the BA community.

The event, organized with the support of Evozon and Banca Transilvania, featured three talks exploring different perspectives on the evolving role of Business Analysts.
Roxana Hădărău (Banca Transilvania) reflected on the journey of becoming a Business Analyst, describing the profession as one that evolves over time, from early enthusiasm to a mature practice focused on delivering meaningful value within organizations.
Lavinia Ghenghiu (Evozon) highlighted the responsibility behind the BA role, emphasizing that successful analysts go beyond documenting requirements. By challenging assumptions and connecting stakeholders, they help organizations make better decisions and align teams around complex needs.
Mihaiela Marian-Vălean (Evozon) and Alexandra Haitonic (Evozon) explored the relationship between AI and Business Analysis, showing how technology can support analysts through automation. At the same time, they emphasized that the core of business analysis remains deeply human, understanding context, facilitating collaboration, and building trust.
As they concluded: AI predicts, but humans understand.
