Students of  “Babeș-Bolyai” and Technical University have been invited to the Open Days events organized by Evozon on both March 25th and 28th. The main purpose of this event was letting students know about our internship opportunities, as well as offer them a glimpse of what a developer’s day is like. We wanted to make these events as interactive as possible, so we went for a brief company presentation, followed by a clear and concise description of each department who’s offering an internship program. The Java, Microsoft, Perl and PHP team leaders  pointed out the main challenges they have faced so far, the career opportunities that have opened for them at Evozon, and their professional achievements. During their speech they tried to highlight the advantages of each development language.

The story went on with a company tour, each student being able to visit each and every office. Here, they have actually seen what a developer’s day is like.  This was the most interactive part, because they had many curiosities regarding the types of applications they were working on, technologies they were using and, last but not least, questions regarding the working environment and style.

Here are a couple of feedback excerpts:

“I really liked the fact that we were able to visit each department and see how are the developers working. I was also impressed by the pleasant atmosphere in the company. Another fact I liked was that we’ve been informed by the people working in these very areas.”

“I think that the best way to show what a company wants from the students is inviting them to visit the company’s premises. This is the best way for someone who finds himself at the

beginning of his career to find out whether a company meets their expectations or not. People at Evozon are friendly and their willingness to communicate, open up and develop is highly noticeable. I’ve also seen teams that mix professionalism and fun.”

On the whole, we are glad that we managed to answer students’ questions regarding ways of selling their knowledge through a CV, tips for choosing an internship program or even a career in development, required knowledge and skill-set, or questions regarding our working practices.
