EvoDMS (Document management system)


Client
A big company involved in the import/export of meat throughout Europe. The customer has branches in France, Czech republic, Romania, Ukraine)

Challenge
The client had experienced difficulty handling the big volume of documents that was cluttering their mailboxes. With hundreds of new mailings arriving each day, processing the data and then finding certain pieces of information in the documents was like looking for the needle in the haystack. Without having the documents stored in a database, the task of retrieving the data was gargantuan. The company contracted Evozon to create a document management system to better manage their incoming mail.

Solution
The 6 month project turned into a solution that can scan all the printed documents received by customer and store them in a database for later retrieval. The scanned documents are then “read” by the application with an OCR system (Optical Character Recognition) and the result of the conversion is stored in the database. A powerful search mechanism was implemented for easy retrieval of any document scanned and stored in the database.
EvoDMS has greatly improved our client's document and mail management process. Greater speed, increased accuracy, the convenience and the fewer resources required have been listed as the main benefits of the system. The scanned documents can easily be found and retrieved at will, from any office location.

E-learning system

Client description
Software house specialized in e-learning solutions.

The challenge:
The client had developed a scorm 1.2 compliant desktop solution for building courses and wanted to make it available as a web application to its clients.

The solution
Based on the specifications issued by the customer we have developed the Web application, which features effective student management, course content management and reporting. Students are manually added to the class and administered with an LDAP. Student profiles enable the quick and simple distribution of the appropriate content categories. In case new/updated course content becomes available, course participants are automatically notified. The course content can be accessed both online and offline. The Distribution and Feeback platform can be used to edit and send content in various formats (from SCORM courses and pod-/ vodcasts to weblog contents) to course participants. For feedback, a weblog is automatically attached to the Feedback module, which course participants can use to store suggestions during the course or after its completion. The reporting features enable course administrators to form an overall image of how well the educational content is used and assimilated by the course participants.
